The Griffiths family has been weaving at Melin Tregwynt for over one hundred years. Henry Griffiths bought Melin Tregwynt in 1912. Now Trust Owned they are keeping the skills and knowledge of the tradition of Welsh weaving alive.

This intricate double cloth tapestry weave was created in the 1950's with help from the rural industries board. It forms part of an archive of classic designs and because of its timeless appeal it has been in continuous production at the mill since the 1960's.

Melin Tregwynt throws and bedspreads are finished with a simple hem on all four sides so you can choose to display either side of this reversible fabric.

This 100% Lambswool cloth feels wonderfully soft and light but is still cosy and warm, practical for everyday use and easy to care for.

Throw 120x200cm

The fabric has a pattern repeat of 26x31cm

MELIN TREGWYNTS CARE INSTRUCTIONS : We recommend DRY CLEANING our blankets & throws, but you can WASH BY HAND in cold or cool water (no more than 30 degrees) using a delicate detergent. Move the fabric gently in the water for a couple of minutes. RINSE with cold water and press the excess moisture out - don't wring. Follow with a quick SPIN in the washing machine. Pull into shape whilst damp to straighten, then line dry on a breezy day or dry flat. Cool iron if necessary. We do not advise using a Wool Wash programme on your washing machine for blankets and throws. Interesting facts...Wool can absorb 30% of its weight in water before feeling wet so you may need to use the bath for king-sized blankets!....Leaving in water for a length of time will damage the fibres, felting and shrinking the fabric. Thank you very much. Diolch
